CAMPAIGN FINANCE FOR PARTY COMMITTEES

The Michigan Campaign Finance Act (MCFA) regulates political activity, regulates campaign financing, restricts campaign contributions and expenditures, and so much more.  Do not break the law: be prepared to meet all MCFA requirements and deadlines.  Late filing fees are substantial (and embarrassing)!  This training covers the basics of campaign finance for party committees and identifies the best resources for learning more.

PARTY COMMITTEE CALENDAR

A political party committee has many events and deadlines to prepare for.  The committee calendar can be separated into five different sub-calendars: elections calendar, campaign finance calendar, conventions calendar, internal party calendar and outreach calendar.  This training goes through the specifics of each of these sub-calendars.

BUILD A STRONG PARTY COMMITTEE

Building and managing a strong party committee is no small effort!  Successfully fulfilling all the responsibilities of a party requires large amounts of time and talent.  It is impossible for one or two people to handle this alone: a whole team of dedicated volunteers is needed.  This training covers in detail the various activities a party committee must handle efficiently and effectively, and how the committee should be structured and managed to generate wins for the party.

CANDIDATE RESEARCH, RECRUITMENT & SUPPORT

For the party to have constitutional conservative elected officials, it must begin with candidates who are not only qualified for the job, but also prioritize the principles of the U.S. Constitution and the party platform in its entirety.  In this training, we review the necessary research before each election cycle, the criteria for recruiting great candidates, and the multiple ways a party committee can support its candidates – financially, materially and with get out the vote efforts.

CONVENTION PREP

Each time a convention comes around, the party has to do extensive legwork to ensure it is executed smoothly and properly!  This training walks through the preparatory steps and identifies where you can locate necessary resources and training materials for delegates, convention officers and committees alike.
